Buy Dusky Lorikeet in Alur, Andhra Pradesh
What is listed for Alur is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Dusky Lorikeet you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Dusky Lorikeet reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention For a Dusky Lorikeet that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Your neighbours matter more than your floor plan. A family friendly Dusky Lorikeet that greets the corridor politely buys you goodwill you will need later. Spend the first month on that and the rest of 5-15 Years is easier.
Is a Dusky Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Alur?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Dusky Lorikeet will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Alur without much drama.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
What you will pay
Expect ₹62,167 upward, to around ₹62,167. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.
Health and handover
Every Dusky Lorikeet is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Alur: local climate
Alur is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 38 | 39 | 38 | 33 | 32 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 21 | 25 | 26 | 23 | 22 | 22 | 21 | 20 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 2 | 14 | 23 | 61 | 84 | 96 | 102 | 147 | 87 | 22 | 3 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Your week with a Dusky Lorikeet, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dusky Lorikeet comes home.
