Buy Dusky Lorikeet in Madurai East, Tamil Nadu
We place across Madurai East and the wider Tamil Nadu region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Is a Dusky Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Madurai East?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Dusky Lorikeet will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Madurai East without much drama.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Weather, coat and the Tamil Nadu year
coastal tropical, and the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the bird dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Dusky Lorikeet arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dusky Lorikeet comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Madurai East flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Dusky Lorikeet price, and the cost after it
₹62,167 to ₹62,167 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Dusky Lorikeet without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Madurai East: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Dusky Lorikeet: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 18°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from October to November, and October is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, July, August, September and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 33 | 36 | 37 | 35 | 34 | 34 | 34 | 33 | 31 | 28 | 28 |
| Low °C | 18 | 19 | 22 | 24 | 25 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 21 | 19 |

Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
