Buy Blue & Gold Macaw in Vaikom, Kerala
We place across Vaikom and the wider Kerala region. If a large bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a large bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Blue & Gold Macaw are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
What a Blue & Gold Macaw costs in Vaikom
Between ₹130,187 and ₹130,187 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Blue & Gold Macaw costs more up front and less in the first months.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips For a Blue & Gold Macaw that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Blue & Gold Macaw; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Is a Blue & Gold Macaw a sensible choice for you in Vaikom?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large bird in a Vaikom apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Feeding a large bird without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Blue & Gold Macaw will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Blue & Gold Macaw price, and the cost after it
₹130,187 to ₹130,187 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Blue & Gold Macaw without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Blue & Gold Macaw is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Blue & Gold Macaw in Vaikom: local climate
Summers here are mild, peaking at about 31°C in March, so heat is rarely the problem for a Blue & Gold Macaw that it is on the plains.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 26°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Blue & Gold Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are December to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 30 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 30 |
| Low °C | 26 | 26 | 27 | 28 | 28 | 27 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
| Rain mm | 16 | 36 | 66 | 147 | 296 | 482 | 402 | 329 | 306 | 370 | 201 | 46 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
