We place across Idukki and the wider Kerala region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Feeding a small bird without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the Black Capped Conure arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.

Health records you should insist on

Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Black Capped Conure names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented bird from an undocumented one.

Is a Black Capped Conure a sensible choice for you in Idukki?

Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Black Capped Conure placements in Idukki than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Black Capped Conure.

Weather, coat and the Kerala year

The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Black Capped Conure will barely register the change.

What you will pay

Expect ₹31,622 upward, to around ₹31,622. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.

Health and handover

Every Black Capped Conure is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
