We place across Thalghattapura and the wider Karnataka region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

moderate Deccan, and the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the bird dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.

Is a Dusky Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Thalghattapura?

You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Thalghattapura apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the Dusky Lorikeet arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a small bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Dusky Lorikeet are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Dusky Lorikeet.

What you will pay

Expect ₹62,167 upward, to around ₹62,167. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.

Health and handover

Every Dusky Lorikeet is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
