What is listed for Allavaram is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Dusky Lorikeet you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dusky Lorikeet comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Allavaram flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Dusky Lorikeet will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a small Dusky Lorikeet to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the bird already has one place it considers its own.
Is a Dusky Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Allavaram?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Dusky Lorikeet placements in Allavaram than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
What a Dusky Lorikeet costs in Allavaram
The purchase is the small number. Over 5-15 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Dusky Lorikeet without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Dusky Lorikeet will barely register the change.
Dusky Lorikeet price, and the cost after it
₹62,167 to ₹62,167 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Dusky Lorikeet without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Dusky Lorikeet is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Allavaram: local climate
Summer here peaks in May at about 35°C. That is manageable for a Dusky Lorikeet: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 20°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and October is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 28 | 30 | 33 | 35 | 35 | 33 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 28 | 28 |

Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Your week with a Dusky Lorikeet, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dusky Lorikeet comes home.
