What is listed for Vellarikkundu is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Dachshund Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Your neighbours matter more than your floor plan. A family friendly Dachshund Puppy that greets the corridor politely buys you goodwill you will need later. Spend the first month on that and the rest of 10-12 Years is easier.
What a Dachshund Puppy costs in Vellarikkundu
Between ₹15,221 and ₹15,221 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the dog is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Dachshund Puppy costs more up front and less in the first months.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small dog notices both. the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Dachshund Puppy will barely register the change.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a small Dachshund Puppy to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Is a Dachshund Puppy a sensible choice for you in Vellarikkundu?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Dachshund Puppy placements in Vellarikkundu than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Dachshund Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Dachshund Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹15,221 to ₹15,221 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Dachshund Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Dachshund in Vellarikkundu: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 32°C. That is manageable for a Dachshund: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 23°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Dachshund puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 32 | 32 | 32 | 30 | 28 | 27 | 27 | 27 | 28 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 23 | 24 | 25 | 26 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 23 |
| Rain mm | 3 | 5 | 22 | 67 | 222 | 851 | 884 | 669 | 380 | 269 | 106 | 20 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Dachshund Puppy
Your week with a Dachshund Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dachshund Puppy comes home.
