Buy Chow Chow Puppy in Kothamangalam, Kerala
We place across Kothamangalam and the wider Kerala region. If a medium dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new medium dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Is a Chow Chow Puppy a sensible choice for you in Kothamangalam?
You are choosing a 8-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A medium dog in a Kothamangalam apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a medium Chow Chow Puppy to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a medium dog notices both. the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Chow Chow Puppy will barely register the change.
What a Chow Chow Puppy costs in Kothamangalam
Between ₹27,368 and ₹27,368 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the dog is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Chow Chow Puppy costs more up front and less in the first months.
Feeding a medium dog without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the dog lobbies. A Chow Chow Puppy that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 8-12 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
What you will pay
Expect ₹27,368 upward, to around ₹27,368. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 8-12 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Chow Chow in Kothamangalam: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Chow Chow, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 23°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Chow Chow puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 33 | 34 | 33 | 31 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 29 | 30 |
| Low °C | 23 | 24 | 26 | 26 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 23 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 8 | 28 | 88 | 226 | 589 | 565 | 409 | 275 | 251 | 122 | 25 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
