What is listed for Devikulam is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Pug Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
What a Pug Puppy costs in Devikulam
Expect ₹18,715 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Pug Puppy reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.
Settling in with children and other pets
Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Pug Puppy is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 10-12 Years.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the dog lobbies. A Pug Puppy that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 10-12 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Pug Puppy names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented dog from an undocumented one.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Pug Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Devikulam flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
What you will pay
Expect ₹18,715 upward, to around ₹18,715. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Pug in Devikulam: local climate
The city sits at about 1,594 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.
Summers here are mild, peaking at about 26°C in March, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pug that it is on the plains.
Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A Pug has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.
The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.
For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 21 | 25 | 26 | 25 | 22 | 19 | 18 | 19 | 19 | 20 | 20 | 20 |
| Low °C | 10 | 11 | 13 | 15 | 15 | 15 | 14 | 14 | 14 | 14 | 13 | 11 |
| Rain mm | 12 | 24 | 47 | 107 | 217 | 334 | 291 | 245 | 231 | 312 | 171 | 38 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
