What is listed for Atmakur is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Dachshund Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dachshund Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Atmakur flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Dachshund Puppy reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Dachshund Puppy arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
warm and humid, and the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
What a Dachshund Puppy costs in Atmakur
Expect ₹15,221 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
What you will pay
Expect ₹15,221 upward, to around ₹15,221. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Dachshund in Atmakur: local climate
Atmakur is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Dachshund needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
Most of the year's rain falls in September. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Dachshund puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 38 | 40 | 40 | 34 | 32 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 16 | 18 | 21 | 25 | 27 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 21 | 18 | 16 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 3 | 14 | 22 | 50 | 100 | 125 | 134 | 156 | 105 | 30 | 6 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Dachshund Puppy
Your week with a Dachshund Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dachshund Puppy comes home.
