Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Sugar Glider comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Basavanapura flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the Sugar Glider arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a small pet that seeks them out.

Feeding a tiny small pet without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A tiny breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Is a Sugar Glider a sensible choice for you in Basavanapura?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Sugar Glider will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Basavanapura without much drama.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the small pet to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Sugar Glider.

What you will pay

Expect ₹16,776 upward, to around ₹16,776. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10–12 Years.

Health and handover

Every Sugar Glider is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a tiny small pet moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
