What is listed for Thirumalagiri is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Hahn's Macaw you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Hahn's Macaw arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Weather, coat and the Telangana year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Hahn's Macaw will barely register the change.
Is a Hahn's Macaw a sensible choice for you in Thirumalagiri?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Hahn's Macaw will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Thirumalagiri without much drama.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Your neighbours matter more than your floor plan. A family friendly Hahn's Macaw that greets the corridor politely buys you goodwill you will need later. Spend the first month on that and the rest of 5-15 Years is easier.
Hahn's Macaw price, and the cost after it
₹64,953 to ₹64,953 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Hahn's Macaw without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Hahn's Macaw in Thirumalagiri: local climate
Thirumalagiri is hottest in May, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Hahn's Macaw needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from August to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Hahn's Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 33 | 37 | 39 | 39 | 33 | 30 | 29 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 28 |
| Low °C | 14 | 17 | 20 | 24 | 26 | 23 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 19 | 16 | 14 |

Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
