What is listed for Buggaram is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Blue & Gold Macaw you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Blue & Gold Macaw reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.
Feeding a large bird without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the bird lobbies. A Blue & Gold Macaw that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 5-15 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Blue & Gold Macaw arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Blue & Gold Macaw comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Buggaram flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a large bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
What a Blue & Gold Macaw costs in Buggaram
Between ₹130,187 and ₹130,187 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Blue & Gold Macaw costs more up front and less in the first months.
Blue & Gold Macaw price, and the cost after it
₹130,187 to ₹130,187 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Blue & Gold Macaw without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Blue & Gold Macaw is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Blue & Gold Macaw in Buggaram: local climate
Buggaram is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Blue & Gold Macaw needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 12°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Blue & Gold Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 33 | 37 | 41 | 42 | 35 | 30 | 28 | 29 | 29 | 28 | 28 |
| Low °C | 13 | 16 | 21 | 25 | 28 | 25 | 23 | 22 | 22 | 19 | 15 | 12 |
| Rain mm | 12 | 8 | 19 | 13 | 18 | 157 | 268 | 233 | 162 | 55 | 10 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Blue & Gold Macaw
Your week with a Blue & Gold Macaw, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Blue & Gold Macaw comes home.
