We place across Sholinganallur and the wider Tamil Nadu region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Feeding a small bird without guesswork

Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Cockatiel will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Cockatiel reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a small bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Cockatiel are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.

What a Cockatiel costs in Sholinganallur

Between ₹4,255 and ₹4,255 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Cockatiel costs more up front and less in the first months.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Is a Cockatiel a sensible choice for you in Sholinganallur?

You are choosing a 15-20 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Sholinganallur apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

What you will pay

Expect ₹4,255 upward, to around ₹4,255. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 15-20 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
