Buy Yellow Naped Amazon in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu
We place across Coonoor and the wider Tamil Nadu region. If a medium bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Weather, coat and the Tamil Nadu year
the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention For a Yellow Naped Amazon that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a medium Yellow Naped Amazon to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the bird already has one place it considers its own.
Is a Yellow Naped Amazon a sensible choice for you in Coonoor?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Yellow Naped Amazon will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Coonoor without much drama.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Yellow Naped Amazon comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Coonoor flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a medium bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Yellow Naped Amazon arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Yellow Naped Amazon price, and the cost after it
₹94,020 to ₹94,020 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Yellow Naped Amazon without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Yellow Naped Amazon in Coonoor: local climate
The city sits at about 1,746 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.
Summers here are mild, peaking at about 28°C in March, so heat is rarely the problem for a Yellow Naped Amazon that it is on the plains.
Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A light sweater helps a medium Yellow Naped Amazon on the coldest nights.
Most of the year's rain falls in October. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Yellow Naped Amazon bird, the easiest months to arrive are March, April, May, August and September: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 22 | 25 | 28 | 28 | 25 | 21 | 20 | 21 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 20 |
| Low °C | 8 | 10 | 13 | 15 | 15 | 13 | 13 | 13 | 12 | 12 | 11 | 9 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 7 | 26 | 57 | 103 | 123 | 123 | 107 | 112 | 157 | 100 | 24 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
