Buy Hahn's Macaw in Chengam, Tamil Nadu

We place across Chengam and the wider Tamil Nadu region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Is a Hahn's Macaw a sensible choice for you in Chengam?

You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Chengam apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

What a Hahn's Macaw costs in Chengam

Between ₹64,953 and ₹64,953 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Hahn's Macaw costs more up front and less in the first months.

Feeding a small bird without guesswork

Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the bird lobbies. A Hahn's Macaw that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 5-15 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Hahn's Macaw.

Weather, coat and the Tamil Nadu year

warm and humid, and the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the bird dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Hahn's Macaw comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Chengam flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

What you will pay

Expect ₹64,953 upward, to around ₹64,953. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
