What is listed for Chengalpattu is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Yellow Naped Amazon you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Is a Yellow Naped Amazon a sensible choice for you in Chengalpattu?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A medium bird in a Chengalpattu apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new medium bird entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a medium Yellow Naped Amazon to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the bird already has one place it considers its own.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Yellow Naped Amazon names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented bird from an undocumented one.
What a Yellow Naped Amazon costs in Chengalpattu
The purchase is the small number. Over 5-15 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Yellow Naped Amazon without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a medium bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Yellow Naped Amazon are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
Yellow Naped Amazon price, and the cost after it
₹94,020 to ₹94,020 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Yellow Naped Amazon without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Yellow Naped Amazon in Chengalpattu: local climate
Summer here peaks in May at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Yellow Naped Amazon: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from October to November, and November is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Yellow Naped Amazon bird, the easiest months to arrive are January to July: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 27 | 29 | 32 | 34 | 34 | 34 | 33 | 32 | 31 | 30 | 28 | 27 |
| Low °C | 21 | 22 | 24 | 26 | 27 | 27 | 26 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 22 |
| Rain mm | 18 | 8 | 16 | 28 | 61 | 66 | 95 | 123 | 141 | 250 | 297 | 130 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Your week with a Yellow Naped Amazon, reduced to what actually matters.

- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
