Buy Black Headed Caique in Vythiri, Kerala
What is listed for Vythiri is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Black Headed Caique you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Settling in with children and other pets
Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Black Headed Caique is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 5-15 Years.
Is a Black Headed Caique a sensible choice for you in Vythiri?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Vythiri apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a small Black Headed Caique to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the bird already has one place it considers its own.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention For a Black Headed Caique that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Black Headed Caique comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Vythiri flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Black Headed Caique price, and the cost after it
₹49,658 to ₹49,658 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Black Headed Caique without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Black Headed Caique in Vythiri: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 33°C. That is manageable for a Black Headed Caique: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Black Headed Caique bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 32 | 33 | 32 | 29 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 25 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 19 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 19 | 19 | 19 | 18 | 16 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 7 | 28 | 74 | 166 | 377 | 371 | 269 | 206 | 209 | 109 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
