Buy Rainbow Lorikeet in Chittur, Kerala
We place across Chittur and the wider Kerala region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Rainbow Lorikeet reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention For a Rainbow Lorikeet that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Is a Rainbow Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Chittur?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Rainbow Lorikeet will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Chittur without much drama.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new small bird entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Rainbow Lorikeet names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented bird from an undocumented one.
What a Rainbow Lorikeet costs in Chittur
The purchase is the small number. Over 5-15 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Rainbow Lorikeet without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
What you will pay
Expect ₹19,639 upward, to around ₹19,639. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Rainbow Lorikeet in Chittur: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Rainbow Lorikeet: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 19°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Rainbow Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are December to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 35 | 37 | 36 | 32 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 30 | 29 | 30 |
| Low °C | 19 | 20 | 23 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 20 |
| Rain mm | 8 | 16 | 36 | 80 | 159 | 247 | 223 | 190 | 174 | 244 | 142 | 31 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Rainbow Lorikeet
Your week with a Rainbow Lorikeet, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Rainbow Lorikeet comes home.
