We place across Yediyur and the wider Karnataka region. If a medium bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a medium bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young African Grey Parrot are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.

Feeding a medium bird without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A medium breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds For a African Grey Parrot that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the African Grey Parrot arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.

Is a African Grey Parrot a sensible choice for you in Yediyur?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly African Grey Parrot will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Yediyur without much drama.
