Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Blue Fronted Amazon comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Konasandra flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Settling in with children and other pets

Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new medium bird entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Blue Fronted Amazon.

Health records you should insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Blue Fronted Amazon; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
