What is listed for Karwar is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Blue Sided you asked for and hear about it in six months.
What a Blue Sided costs in Karwar
Between ₹7,062 and ₹7,062 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Blue Sided costs more up front and less in the first months.
Is a Blue Sided a sensible choice for you in Karwar?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Karwar apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Blue Sided.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the bird lobbies. A Blue Sided that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 5-15 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Settling in with children and other pets
Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Blue Sided is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 5-15 Years.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Blue Sided will barely register the change.
Blue Sided price, and the cost after it
₹7,062 to ₹7,062 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Blue Sided without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Blue Sided in Karwar: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Blue Sided: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 18°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Blue Sided bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, May, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 35 | 36 | 37 | 35 | 30 | 29 | 28 | 29 | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 18 | 20 | 23 | 25 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 21 | 19 |
| Rain mm | 1 | 2 | 12 | 26 | 86 | 565 | 637 | 485 | 298 | 156 | 34 | 4 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Blue Sided | Turquoise Conure
Your week with a Blue Sided, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Blue Sided comes home.
