Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a African Love Birds comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Kalghatgi flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Is a African Love Birds a sensible choice for you in Kalghatgi?

You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A tiny bird in a Kalghatgi apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

What a African Love Birds costs in Kalghatgi

Expect ₹2,639 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the African Love Birds arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.

Health records you should insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every African Love Birds; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.

Feeding a tiny bird without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A tiny breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

What you will pay

Expect ₹2,639 upward, to around ₹3,179. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
