Is a Red Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Kadugondanahalli?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Red Lorikeet will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Kadugondanahalli without much drama.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Red Lorikeet comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Kadugondanahalli flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Red Lorikeet.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Red Lorikeet will barely register the change.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the Red Lorikeet arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Red Lorikeet price, and the cost after it

₹63,387 to ₹63,387 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Red Lorikeet without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.

Health and handover

Every Red Lorikeet is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
