We place across Jayanagar and the wider Karnataka region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

moderate Deccan, and the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the bird dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.

Is a Rainbow Lorikeet a sensible choice for you in Jayanagar?

You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small bird in a Jayanagar apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

Settling in with children and other pets

Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new small bird entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.

Feeding a small bird without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a small bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Rainbow Lorikeet are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.

Health records you should insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Rainbow Lorikeet; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.

What you will pay

Expect ₹19,639 upward, to around ₹19,639. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.
