We place across Hungund and the wider Karnataka region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Hahn's Macaw comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Hungund flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Hahn's Macaw arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Hahn's Macaw.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Hahn's Macaw names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented bird from an undocumented one.
Is a Hahn's Macaw a sensible choice for you in Hungund?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Hahn's Macaw placements in Hungund than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
What you will pay
Expect ₹64,953 upward, to around ₹64,953. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Hahn's Macaw in Hungund: local climate
Hungund is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Hahn's Macaw needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Hahn's Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 38 | 39 | 38 | 32 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 21 | 24 | 24 | 22 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 19 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 2 | 2 | 14 | 29 | 52 | 74 | 87 | 91 | 121 | 76 | 22 | 3 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Hahn's Macaw
A practical checklist for a small bird in a Hungund flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a family friendly breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
