What is listed for Hirekerur is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Blue Sided you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Blue Sided comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Hirekerur flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
What a Blue Sided costs in Hirekerur
The purchase is the small number. Over 5-15 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Blue Sided without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Is a Blue Sided a sensible choice for you in Hirekerur?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Blue Sided placements in Hirekerur than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Blue Sided arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the bird lobbies. A Blue Sided that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 5-15 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Blue Sided will barely register the change.
Blue Sided price, and the cost after it
₹7,062 to ₹7,062 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Blue Sided without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Blue Sided in Hirekerur: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Blue Sided: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Blue Sided bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, May, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 37 | 37 | 34 | 28 | 27 | 27 | 27 | 28 | 28 | 29 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 20 | 22 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 19 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 1 | 2 | 14 | 34 | 88 | 272 | 318 | 264 | 190 | 130 | 40 | 5 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Your week with a Blue Sided, reduced to what actually matters.
