We place across Davangere and the wider Karnataka region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Do not introduce a small Black Headed Caique to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the bird already has one place it considers its own.

Feeding a small bird without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Is a Black Headed Caique a sensible choice for you in Davangere?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Black Headed Caique will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Davangere without much drama.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a small bird notices both. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Black Headed Caique will barely register the change.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Black Headed Caique comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Davangere flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

What you will pay

Expect ₹49,658 upward, to around ₹49,658. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 5-15 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
