Buy White Bellied Caique in Chikodi, Karnataka
We place across Chikodi and the wider Karnataka region. If a small bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward For a White Bellied Caique that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the bird to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new White Bellied Caique.
Settling in with children and other pets
Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly White Bellied Caique is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 5-15 Years.
Feeding a small bird without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The White Bellied Caique will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every White Bellied Caique; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a White Bellied Caique comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Chikodi flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
White Bellied Caique price, and the cost after it
₹59,147 to ₹59,147 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a White Bellied Caique without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every White Bellied Caique is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a White Bellied Caique in Chikodi: local climate
Chikodi is hottest in April, averaging 38°C in the afternoon. A White Bellied Caique needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new White Bellied Caique bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 37 | 38 | 36 | 29 | 26 | 26 | 27 | 28 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 14 | 16 | 19 | 21 | 22 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 19 | 16 | 14 |
| Rain mm | 1 | 1 | 6 | 14 | 47 | 263 | 330 | 266 | 169 | 89 | 17 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
