We place across Bidar and the wider Karnataka region. If a medium bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a African Grey Parrot comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Bidar flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Is a African Grey Parrot a sensible choice for you in Bidar?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly African Grey Parrot will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Bidar without much drama.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a medium bird notices both. comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the African Grey Parrot will barely register the change.
Feeding a medium bird without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The African Grey Parrot will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
What a African Grey Parrot costs in Bidar
Between ₹67,146 and ₹67,146 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated African Grey Parrot costs more up front and less in the first months.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every African Grey Parrot; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
African Grey Parrot price, and the cost after it
₹67,146 to ₹67,146 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a African Grey Parrot without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a African Grey Parrot in Bidar: local climate
Bidar is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A African Grey Parrot needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 12°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from July to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new African Grey Parrot bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 33 | 36 | 39 | 40 | 33 | 30 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 28 | 28 |
| Low °C | 13 | 16 | 20 | 24 | 26 | 23 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 18 | 15 | 12 |
| Rain mm | 6 | 6 | 19 | 23 | 30 | 124 | 185 | 199 | 168 | 78 | 13 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for African Grey Parrot
Your week with a African Grey Parrot, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the African Grey Parrot comes home.
