What is listed for Vijayapuram is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different bird that fits your schedule than sell you the Scarlet Macaw you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Scarlet Macaw arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
What a Scarlet Macaw costs in Vijayapuram
Expect ₹298,026 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Scarlet Macaw names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented bird from an undocumented one.
Is a Scarlet Macaw a sensible choice for you in Vijayapuram?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Scarlet Macaw will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Vijayapuram without much drama.
Feeding a large bird without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A large breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a large bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Scarlet Macaw are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
Scarlet Macaw price, and the cost after it
₹298,026 to ₹298,026 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Scarlet Macaw without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Scarlet Macaw in Vijayapuram: local climate
Summer here peaks in May at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Scarlet Macaw: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 20°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from October to November, and November is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Scarlet Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, March, June, July and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 27 | 30 | 34 | 36 | 36 | 35 | 34 | 33 | 32 | 30 | 28 | 27 |
| Low °C | 20 | 21 | 23 | 26 | 27 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 23 | 21 |
| Rain mm | 14 | 5 | 12 | 23 | 48 | 66 | 104 | 125 | 137 | 256 | 278 | 110 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Scarlet Macaw
A practical checklist for a large bird in a Vijayapuram flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.

- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
