We place across Mandapeta and the wider Andhra Pradesh region. If a medium bird does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
What a African Grey Parrot costs in Mandapeta
The purchase is the small number. Over 5-15 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a African Grey Parrot without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A African Grey Parrot reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the African Grey Parrot arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important For a African Grey Parrot that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Is a African Grey Parrot a sensible choice for you in Mandapeta?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A medium bird in a Mandapeta apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Feeding a medium bird without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the bird lobbies. A African Grey Parrot that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 5-15 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
African Grey Parrot price, and the cost after it
₹67,146 to ₹67,146 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a African Grey Parrot without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a African Grey Parrot in Mandapeta: local climate
Mandapeta is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A African Grey Parrot needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 18°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and October is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new African Grey Parrot bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 34 | 37 | 39 | 38 | 34 | 32 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 18 | 19 | 22 | 25 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 23 | 20 | 18 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 10 | 10 | 25 | 57 | 156 | 201 | 190 | 204 | 216 | 71 | 21 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for African Grey Parrot
Your week with a African Grey Parrot, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the bird properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the African Grey Parrot comes home.
