Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Blue & Gold Macaw arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a bird that seeks them out.
Is a Blue & Gold Macaw a sensible choice for you in Gangadhara Nellore?
You are choosing a 5-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large bird in a Gangadhara Nellore apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Blue & Gold Macaw reads consistency as safety, and a settled bird learns faster.
Feeding a large bird without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Blue & Gold Macaw will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a large bird, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Blue & Gold Macaw are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
What a Blue & Gold Macaw costs in Gangadhara Nellore
Between ₹130,187 and ₹130,187 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the bird is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Blue & Gold Macaw costs more up front and less in the first months.
Blue & Gold Macaw price, and the cost after it
₹130,187 to ₹130,187 for the bird. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Blue & Gold Macaw without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Blue & Gold Macaw is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large bird moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Blue & Gold Macaw in Gangadhara Nellore: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 38°C. That is manageable for a Blue & Gold Macaw: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from October to November, and November is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Blue & Gold Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, July and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 28 | 32 | 36 | 38 | 37 | 35 | 34 | 33 | 31 | 30 | 28 | 27 |
| Low °C | 16 | 17 | 20 | 23 | 25 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 22 | 19 | 17 |
| Rain mm | 12 | 7 | 15 | 34 | 66 | 72 | 104 | 121 | 146 | 198 | 201 | 79 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
