We place across Kodangal and the wider Telangana region. If a large dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Is a Dogo Argentino Puppy a sensible choice for you in Kodangal?
You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large dog in a Kodangal apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Dogo Argentino Puppy will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new large dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Dogo Argentino Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dogo Argentino Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Kodangal flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a large Dogo Argentino Puppy to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
What you will pay
Expect ₹56,603 upward, to around ₹56,603. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Health and handover
Every Dogo Argentino Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Dogo Argentino in Kodangal: local climate
Kodangal is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Dogo Argentino needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from July to September, and September is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.
For a new Dogo Argentino puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 37 | 39 | 40 | 33 | 30 | 29 | 29 | 29 | 29 | 30 |
| Low °C | 14 | 17 | 21 | 24 | 26 | 23 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 19 | 16 | 14 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 4 | 18 | 27 | 39 | 106 | 150 | 163 | 164 | 81 | 14 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Dogo Argentino Puppy
Your week with a Dogo Argentino Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dogo Argentino Puppy comes home.
