What is listed for Kattangur is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Golden Retriever you asked for and hear about it in six months.
What a Golden Retriever costs in Kattangur
The purchase is the small number. Over 10-12 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Golden Retriever without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a large Golden Retriever to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Golden Retriever comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Kattangur flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A large breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Golden Retriever; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Is a Golden Retriever a sensible choice for you in Kattangur?
You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large dog in a Kattangur apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Golden Retriever price, and the cost after it
₹15,000 to ₹45,000 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Golden Retriever without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Golden Retriever is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Golden Retriever in Kattangur: local climate
Kattangur is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Golden Retriever needs real protection from that because its double coat holds heat close to the body and a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
Most of the year's rain falls in August. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Golden Retriever puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 38 | 41 | 41 | 35 | 33 | 31 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 29 |
| Low °C | 16 | 18 | 22 | 25 | 28 | 26 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 21 | 18 | 16 |
| Rain mm | 7 | 6 | 16 | 21 | 33 | 103 | 145 | 165 | 141 | 100 | 23 | 6 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Golden Retriever
A practical checklist for a large dog in a Kattangur flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a family friendly breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
