We place across Thamarassery and the wider Kerala region. If a giant dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new French Mastiff Puppy.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Your neighbours matter more than your floor plan. A family friendly French Mastiff Puppy that greets the corridor politely buys you goodwill you will need later. Spend the first month on that and the rest of 10-12 Years is easier.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every French Mastiff Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Is a French Mastiff Puppy a sensible choice for you in Thamarassery?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly French Mastiff Puppy will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Thamarassery without much drama.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new giant dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Feeding a giant dog without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A giant breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
What you will pay
Expect ₹47,270 upward, to around ₹47,270. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Health and handover
Every French Mastiff Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a giant dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a French Mastiff in Thamarassery: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 34°C. That is manageable for a French Mastiff, but watch it closely because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and a giant body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.
For a new French Mastiff puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 32 | 34 | 32 | 29 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 27 |
| Low °C | 16 | 17 | 20 | 21 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 20 | 20 | 18 | 16 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 7 | 28 | 74 | 166 | 377 | 371 | 269 | 206 | 209 | 109 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for French Mastiff Puppy
A practical checklist for a giant dog in a Thamarassery flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a family friendly breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
