We place across Mavelikkara and the wider Kerala region. If a medium dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Border Collie Puppy names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented dog from an undocumented one.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Border Collie Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Mavelikkara flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Border Collie Puppy reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.
Is a Border Collie Puppy a sensible choice for you in Mavelikkara?
You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A medium dog in a Mavelikkara apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a medium dog notices both. moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Border Collie Puppy will barely register the change.
Feeding a medium dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Border Collie Puppy will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
What you will pay
Expect ₹200,267 upward, to around ₹200,267. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Health and handover
Every Border Collie Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a medium dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Border Collie in Mavelikkara: local climate
Summers here are mild, peaking at about 31°C in March, so heat is rarely the problem for a Border Collie that it is on the plains.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 26°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Border Collie puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.

Your week with a Border Collie Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.

- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Border Collie Puppy comes home.
