Buy Shih Tzu in Malappuram, Kerala
What is listed for Malappuram is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Shih Tzu you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Shih Tzu; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a small dog, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Shih Tzu are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips For a Shih Tzu that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Shih Tzu.
Is a Shih Tzu a sensible choice for you in Malappuram?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Shih Tzu placements in Malappuram than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Shih Tzu will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Shih Tzu price, and the cost after it
₹24,055 to ₹24,055 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Shih Tzu without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Shih Tzu is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Shih Tzu in Malappuram: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Shih Tzu, but watch it closely because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 20°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Shih Tzu puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 33 | 35 | 36 | 35 | 32 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 29 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 20 | 22 | 24 | 25 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 21 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 11 | 33 | 84 | 184 | 399 | 368 | 278 | 217 | 241 | 129 | 26 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Shih Tzu | Black Color
A practical checklist for a small dog in a Malappuram flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a bold breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
