We place across Iritty and the wider Kerala region. If a large dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Afghan Hound Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Iritty flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Is a Afghan Hound Puppy a sensible choice for you in Iritty?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a aloof Afghan Hound Puppy will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Iritty without much drama.

Feeding a large dog without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A large breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Settling in with children and other pets

Teach the children the rules before the Afghan Hound Puppy arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Weather, coat and the Kerala year

The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a large dog notices both. the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Afghan Hound Puppy will barely register the change.

What you will pay

Expect ₹78,285 upward, to around ₹78,285. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 12–14 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
