We place across Chittur and the wider Kerala region. If a large dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Afghan Hound Puppy.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Is a Afghan Hound Puppy a sensible choice for you in Chittur?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Afghan Hound Puppy placements in Chittur than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
What a Afghan Hound Puppy costs in Chittur
The purchase is the small number. Over 12–14 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Afghan Hound Puppy without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the dog lobbies. A Afghan Hound Puppy that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 12–14 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a large dog, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Afghan Hound Puppy are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
Afghan Hound Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹78,285 to ₹78,285 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Afghan Hound Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Afghan Hound in Chittur: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Afghan Hound, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 19°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 35 | 37 | 36 | 32 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 30 | 29 | 30 |
| Low °C | 19 | 20 | 23 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 20 |
| Rain mm | 8 | 16 | 36 | 80 | 159 | 247 | 223 | 190 | 174 | 244 | 142 | 31 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Afghan Hound Puppy
Your week with a Afghan Hound Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Afghan Hound Puppy comes home.
