Settling in with children and other pets

Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Maltese Puppy is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 10-12 Years.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Maltese Puppy reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

mild tropical plateau, and the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.

Feeding a tiny dog without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A tiny breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Health records you should insist on

Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a tiny dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.

Is a Maltese Puppy a sensible choice for you in Navalgund?

Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Maltese Puppy will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Navalgund without much drama.

What you will pay

Expect ₹32,397 upward, to around ₹32,397. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
