We place across Krishnarajpet and the wider Karnataka region. If a small dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Dachshund Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
pleasant semi-tropical, and comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Dachshund Puppy will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Dachshund Puppy reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dachshund Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Krishnarajpet flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Is a Dachshund Puppy a sensible choice for you in Krishnarajpet?
You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small dog in a Krishnarajpet apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Dachshund Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹15,221 to ₹15,221 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Dachshund Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Dachshund in Krishnarajpet: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Dachshund: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Dachshund puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 32 | 34 | 34 | 31 | 27 | 25 | 25 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
| Low °C | 14 | 16 | 19 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 19 | 19 | 19 | 18 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 2 | 5 | 21 | 60 | 136 | 309 | 360 | 274 | 201 | 151 | 63 | 13 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
