Apartment living: what actually matters

Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a small dog, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Shih Tzu are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Shih Tzu.

Is a Shih Tzu a sensible choice for you in Koramangala 7th Block?

You are choosing a 10-16 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small dog in a Koramangala 7th Block apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

Feeding a small dog without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds For a Shih Tzu that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.

Health records you should insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Shih Tzu; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.

Shih Tzu price, and the cost after it

₹23,725 to ₹23,725 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Shih Tzu without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.

Records to insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
