Apartment living: what actually matters

Your neighbours matter more than your floor plan. A family friendly Golden Retriever that greets the corridor politely buys you goodwill you will need later. Spend the first month on that and the rest of 10-12 Years is easier.

What a Golden Retriever costs in Kengeri

Expect ₹15,000 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.

Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds For a Golden Retriever that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.

Feeding a large dog without guesswork

Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A large breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.

Is a Golden Retriever a sensible choice for you in Kengeri?

You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large dog in a Kengeri apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
