Weather, coat and the Karnataka year

mild tropical plateau, and the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.

Your first fortnight, step by step

Do not introduce a large Boxer Puppy to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.

Settling in with children and other pets

Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Boxer Puppy is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 10-12 Years.

Apartment living: what actually matters

Balconies need grilles before a Boxer Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Jamkhandi flat with people in it beats a large empty house.

Health records you should insist on

Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Boxer Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.

Is a Boxer Puppy a sensible choice for you in Jamkhandi?

You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A large dog in a Jamkhandi apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

What you will pay
