What is listed for Chintamani is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Dachshund Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
What a Dachshund Puppy costs in Chintamani
The purchase is the small number. Over 10-12 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Dachshund Puppy without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Dachshund Puppy.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Dachshund Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Chintamani flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Is a Dachshund Puppy a sensible choice for you in Chintamani?
You are choosing a 10-12 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small dog in a Chintamani apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new small dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Dachshund Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
What you will pay
Expect ₹15,221 upward, to around ₹15,221. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-12 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Dachshund in Chintamani: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 35°C. That is manageable for a Dachshund: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in October.
For a new Dachshund puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, March, May, June, July, August, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 27 | 31 | 34 | 35 | 33 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 |
| Low °C | 13 | 14 | 18 | 21 | 21 | 20 | 19 | 19 | 18 | 18 | 16 | 13 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 5 | 16 | 44 | 88 | 74 | 90 | 104 | 143 | 147 | 71 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Dachshund Puppy
Your week with a Dachshund Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Dachshund Puppy comes home.
