What is listed for Chelur is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Afghan Hound Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a large Afghan Hound Puppy to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Afghan Hound Puppy will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward For a Afghan Hound Puppy that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new large dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
What a Afghan Hound Puppy costs in Chelur
Between ₹78,285 and ₹78,285 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the dog is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Afghan Hound Puppy costs more up front and less in the first months.
Afghan Hound Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹78,285 to ₹78,285 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Afghan Hound Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Afghan Hound Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Afghan Hound in Chelur: local climate
Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Afghan Hound, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in October.
For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, May, June, July, August, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 29 | 32 | 36 | 37 | 34 | 31 | 30 | 29 | 29 | 28 | 27 | 26 |
| Low °C | 14 | 16 | 19 | 22 | 23 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 20 | 19 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 5 | 16 | 44 | 88 | 74 | 90 | 104 | 143 | 147 | 71 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Afghan Hound Puppy
Your week with a Afghan Hound Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Afghan Hound Puppy comes home.
