What is listed for Badami is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Pug Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
What a Pug Puppy costs in Badami
Between ₹20,696 and ₹20,696 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the dog is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Pug Puppy costs more up front and less in the first months.
Is a Pug Puppy a sensible choice for you in Badami?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a charming Pug Puppy will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Badami without much drama.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Pug Puppy.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
pleasant semi-tropical, and the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Pug Puppy arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A small breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Pug Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹20,696 to ₹20,696 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Pug Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Pug Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Pug in Badami: local climate
Badami is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon. A Pug needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive are June to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 35 | 38 | 39 | 38 | 32 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 21 | 24 | 24 | 22 | 21 | 21 | 21 | 19 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 1 | 2 | 13 | 30 | 51 | 82 | 98 | 99 | 109 | 76 | 23 | 3 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

A practical checklist for a small dog in a Badami flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.

- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
