What is listed for Y.S.R. is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Golden Retriever you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the dog lobbies. A Golden Retriever that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 10-12 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Health records you should insist on
Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Golden Retriever names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented dog from an undocumented one.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Golden Retriever arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important For a Golden Retriever that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Is a Golden Retriever a sensible choice for you in Y.S.R.?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Golden Retriever will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Y.S.R. without much drama.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Check three things before you commit: whether your association permits a large dog, whether the service lift is usable, and what your floor is made of. Polished granite and a young Golden Retriever are a bad pairing - put runners down before it arrives, not after the first slip.
Golden Retriever price, and the cost after it
₹15,000 to ₹45,000 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Golden Retriever without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Golden Retriever in Y.S.R.: local climate
Summer here peaks in May at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Golden Retriever, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body and a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from October to November, and October is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Golden Retriever puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, September and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 27 | 30 | 34 | 36 | 37 | 35 | 34 | 33 | 32 | 31 | 28 | 27 |
| Low °C | 21 | 21 | 23 | 26 | 28 | 28 | 27 | 26 | 26 | 25 | 24 | 22 |
| Rain mm | 12 | 4 | 8 | 15 | 39 | 54 | 92 | 112 | 112 | 246 | 230 | 76 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Golden Retriever
Your week with a Golden Retriever, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.
- Damp: dry the dog properly in the wet months. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Golden Retriever comes home.
