What is listed for Rompicherla is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Shih Tzu you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Shih Tzu comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Rompicherla flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Shih Tzu arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Shih Tzu; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Shih Tzu reads consistency as safety, and a settled dog learns faster.
What a Shih Tzu costs in Rompicherla
The purchase is the small number. Over 10-16 Years, food, boosters, grooming and one unplanned vet visit a year will each outweigh it. Anyone selling you a Shih Tzu without mentioning that is selling, not advising.
Is a Shih Tzu a sensible choice for you in Rompicherla?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a playful Shih Tzu will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Rompicherla without much drama.
What you will pay
Expect ₹24,271 upward, to around ₹24,271. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-16 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Shih Tzu in Rompicherla: local climate
Rompicherla is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Shih Tzu needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 18°C, so cold is not a concern.
Most of the year's rain falls in October. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Shih Tzu puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 34 | 37 | 39 | 40 | 35 | 34 | 32 | 31 | 31 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 18 | 19 | 22 | 25 | 28 | 27 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 20 | 18 |
| Rain mm | 8 | 8 | 9 | 18 | 42 | 90 | 128 | 142 | 148 | 166 | 81 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
